On the X platform, she expressed that artists should feel free to share the genre of their music with their audience. Yemi criticized the double standards of belittling Afrobeat’s role in artists’ growth, labeling it as hypocrisy.

She also expressed disappointment in Nigerians who support artists that put each other down online, rather than addressing the country’s critical issues with the government.

She shared her thoughts, saying that there’s nothing wrong with artists telling their listeners about their music’s genre, especially if they believe it doesn’t capture their entire artistry.

“Just Announce your Genre in peace. Downplaying the role  Afrobeats  has played in every artist’s development is  hypocrisy” she said.

Yemi highlighted the economic struggles, mentioning the 400% hike in electricity tariffs and fuel prices, the devaluation of the Naira against the dollar, extreme heat, and the general increase in wickedness and prices without a corresponding rise in wages.

She pointed out that instead of uniting to face the government about these issues, people are choosing sides in the disputes among Afrobeat artists.
