WWE Hall Of Famer And Father Of Star Roman Reigns Sika Anoa’i dies 79

Sika Anoa’i, WWE Hall of Famer and father of WWE star Roman Reigns, passed away on June 25 2024 at the age of 79.

No cause or location was given, but his death was confirmed by his nephew, Jahrus Anoa’i, who shared on Instagram that Sika “passed away peacefully.”

Sika Anoa’i gained fame in the late 1970s and early 1980s as part of The Wild Samoans tag team with his brother, Arthur “Afa” Anoa’i Sr.

The duo won WWE’s tag team championship three times and were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007.

Anoa’i’s nephew, Jahrus Anoa’i, wrote, “It is with profound sadness that I share the news of the passing of WWE Hall of Famer, Polaivao Leati Sika Anoa’i.

His contributions and legacy have left an indelible mark. His memory will live on through his achievements and the many lives he touched.”

Sika’s son, Roman Reigns, whose real name is Leati Joseph Anoaʻi, also confirmed his father’s death on social media. He expressed gratitude for the support his family has received and paid tribute to his father’s impact on their lives.

“My father had a profound impact on my entire family and we are forever grateful for the foundation he built for us. There’s no way to fill the void left by his passing but my sisters and I will do our best to represent him and his legacy. Rest in Power, Dad. We love you,” Reigns wrote.

After his WWE career, Sika Anoa’i, along with his brother, opened The Wild Samoan Pro Wrestling Training Center in Minneola, Florida, where they trained future wrestling stars.

WWE extended its condolences to Anoa’i’s family, friends, and fans in a statement.
