Hits such as “I Don’t Love You Anymore,” “Love TKO,” and “Turn Off the Lights” solidified his status as a music icon. His exclusive “ladies only” concerts became legendary.

Despite a tragic car accident in 1982 that left him paralyzed from the chest down, Pendergrass remained resilient, continuing to create music and perform.
