Fuad Shukr, also known as Fouad Shukar or Al-Hajj Mohsen, was a prominent member of the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah.

Born in Al-Nabi Shayth, Baalbek District, Lebanon, Shukr received his military training at Imam Hossein University in Tehran. His village became a central base for Hezbollah after the group’s establishment.
Hezbollah Activities
Shukr was a senior military leader within Hezbollah, serving from its early days in the 1980s.
As an advisor to Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, he played a crucial role in military operations and strategy.
Shukr was involved in significant events, including the 1983 Beirut barracks bombings and the 2000 cross-border raid that resulted in the abduction and death of three Israeli soldiers.
He was responsible for acquiring advanced weaponry for Hezbollah, including precision-guided missiles and UAVs.

Shukr’s prominence rose following the assassination of Imad Mughniyeh in 2008. By 2016, he was reported to have replaced Mustafa Badreddine as Hezbollah’s military commander after Badreddine’s death.
The U.S. Department of State designated Shukr as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist in 2013 and later included him in the Rewards for Justice Program in 2017, offering $5 million for information leading to his arrest.

Assassination
On July 30, 2024, Shukr was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut. His death was reportedly linked to his alleged role in the Majdal Shams attack on July 27, which resulted in the deaths of 12 Druze children and injuries to 80 others.
