We adore our Ski-Doo snowmobiles for a reason, as is always the case when a business decides to support a product.

In case you weren’t aware, Canada is where the snowmobile was first developed.
Harold J. Kalenze, a 24-year-old inventor from Brandon, Manitoba, created the first vehicle resembling a snowmobile in 1911.

His design, which served as a precursor to the contemporary track-based sleds we see today, was a vehicle propelled across the snow by a propeller.

Who made Ski-Doo?
In 1920, Joseph Bombardier, the company’s founder, started experimenting with snowmobiles.
His initial objective was to build a snow plane with a propeller, but he soon began to focus on tracked ground vehicles. In 1935, he produced the first snowmobile ever made.
Why is it called Ski-Doo?
His business began producing smaller snowmobiles in the 1950s for just one or two people and one use: enjoyment.
His new recreational vehicles were to be known as Ski-Dogs. The name was written incorrectly as Ski-Doo.
