Early Life, and Education

Hailing from Kansas City, Missouri, Hall was active in track, football, and wrestling at Raytown South High School. He is the son of Milton and Iecia Hall and has two siblings, Milton and Breanna, who also excelled in track.

During high school, Hall made a mark by setting a state record in the 400 meters with a time of 46.82 seconds, earning him the 2016 state championship.

Following high school, Hall attended the College of the Sequoias in California. In 2017, he won championships in the 4×400-meter relay, 400 meters, and 400-meter hurdles, leading his team to a state title. He achieved seven All-American honors during his time there.

Career, Personal Bests, and Medals

Hall’s career took off in 2017 when he competed at the Pan American U20 Athletics Championships in Peru, winning the 400-meter hurdles with a personal best and a championship record time of 49.02 seconds. He also set a meet record at the 2017 Stanford Invitational with a time of 45.32 seconds in the 400 meters and won again in 2018 in the 400-meter hurdles.

While studying at the University of South Carolina, Hall won the NCAA Outdoor Championship in the 400-meter hurdles in 2019 and claimed the NACAC U23 Championship in the same event.

In 2022, Hall set a personal best in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 48.10 seconds at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene. He also earned gold medals in the mixed 4×400 relay and the men’s 4×400 relay at the NACAC Championships.

At the 2023 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Hall ran a personal best time of 44.41 seconds in the 400 meters, finishing third. He continued to excel at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, where he won a bronze medal in the 400 meters with a personal best of 44.37 seconds.

In 2024, Hall achieved notable victories, including winning the 400 meters at the BAUHAUS-galan in Stockholm and setting a world-leading personal best of 43.80 seconds at the Herculis Diamond League event in Monaco. At the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, Hall delivered a remarkable performance, coming from behind to win gold in the 400 meters with a time of 43.40 seconds. This sprint ranks as the fifth-fastest of all time, making him the fourth-fastest in history.
