It’s a constant brawl for control over the streets of Chicago.

Enter the Gangster Disciples, or the “Gd”, an African-American Chicago-based gang belonging to the Folks Nation, the alliance or parent body of the street gangs. The Gd has been in existence for 53 years.

Which side do Gd’s wear their flag on?

All the Gd’s identifiers, earrings, caps, attires, and symbols are strictly worn to the right side of the body. The six-pointed star of David, and the upward-facing pitchfork, are incorporated into the gang symbol.

What are the GD codes?

Like most loyal gangs and societies that build their fraternity strongly on language, the “Gd” have a wide library of codes; mostly numbers and abbreviations that serve as encrypted cues among themselves.
