The Atlantic Coast Conference’s Duke Blue Devils are led by American collegiate basketball player Mark Mitchell Jr. Bishop Miege High School was Mitchell’s first school. He was raised in Kansas City, Kansas.

In just one season as a sophomore, he averaged 21.6 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.8 blocks. Mitchell led Bishop Miege to the Kansas Class 4A state championship by averaging 18 points and six rebounds per game. Mitchell was named the best player in the Kansas City region and received the DiRenna Award for it.

Starting at forward, Mitchell came into his freshman year at Duke. In his first season, he started 35 games, averaged 9.1 points and 4.5 rebounds, and shot 46.9% from the field.
