When Will Rishi Sunak Speak?

Rishi Sunak who has been a member of Parliament (MP) for Richmond (Yorks) since 2015 and has served as Leader of the Conservative Party since 24 October 2022, is the prime minister-designate of the United Kingdom.

Sunak replaced Johnson in the Conservative party leadership election and lost the members’ vote to Liz Truss. After Truss resigned, Rishi Sunak was elected unopposed as Leader of the Conservative Party. He is expected to be appointed Prime Minister by King Charles III today. This will make him the first British Asian, the first Hindu and the richest person to have held the office.

Rishi Sunak will travel to Buckingham Palace and will meet the monarch after Liz Truss has chaired a final meeting of her cabinet at 9 am, after which she will make a speech outside Downing Street as reported by THE GUARDIAN.

Sunak will meet the King afterward and will deliver a speech outside Number 10 at about 11:35 am.
