Sting’s last WWE match occurred at Night of Champions in September 2015, where he unsuccessfully challenged Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

This marked his only WWE pay-per-view main event and the culmination of a relatively short stint with the company.

Prior to joining WWE, Sting established himself as a wrestling legend across various promotions. He began his career in the 1980s with the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) and found immense success in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) throughout the 90s, becoming a fan favorite known for his iconic face paint and high-flying moves.

He later wrestled for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) and All Elite Wrestling (AEW), amassing numerous championship titles across his career.

Interestingly, despite his legendary status, WWE often referred to Sting as “the greatest wrestler never to have competed for them” before his eventual arrival in 2014.

While his WWE run was brief, it marked a significant moment for professional wrestling, allowing fans to witness him finally step into the WWE ring.
