Leslie Phillips CBE is an actor from England. In the 1950s, he rose to stardom by portraying elegant, upper-class comedy parts with his catchphrases “Ding Dong” and “He-llo.” He appeared in the film series Carry On and Doctor in the House, as well as the long-running BBC radio comedy series The Navy Lark.

Phillips went on to have more serious roles later in his career, notably voicing the Sorting Hat in the Harry Potter films.
