Aaron Temkin Beck was born in Providence, Rhode Island, the United States on July 18, 1921. Beck attended Brown University. He graduated magna cum laude (indicate the level of distinction with which an academic degree has been earned) in 1942.

After completing his medical internships and residencies, Beck became a Fellow in psychiatry at the Austen Riggs Center. The Austen Riggs Center is a private mental hospital in the mountains of Stockbridge, Massachusetts.

Dr.  Aaron Beck died at the age of 100 on 1st November 2021.
