Diana was an activist and philanthropist to the core and this earned her increased fame across the globe, but her private life was quite stormy.

Her family, the Spencer family, were close allies with the British royal family for many generations; her grandmothers, Cynthia Spencer, Countess Spencer, and Ruth Roche, Baroness Fermoy, had served as ladies-in-waiting to Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.

She was married to Charles, Prince of Wales (now King of England) in 1981 but divorced in 1996.

Their union produced two sons – William, Prince of Wales and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex.

On 31 August 1997, Diana passed away, following a car crash in the Pont de l’Alma tunnel in Paris.

She was buried on September 6, at Althorp, Northamptonshire, England. Her burial ceremony was aired across the globe and watched by over 32.10 million people worldwide.
