Suzanne Morphew, a 49-year-old mother of two, went missing on Mother’s Day, May 10, 2020, after going on a bike ride.

Her bike was discovered in a gully near her mountain home in Salida, 140 miles south of Denver, the day she went missing.
Investigators discovered her scattered remains 50 miles from her bike in Moffat, Saguache County while looking into another case.
She was buried in a shallow grave, the coroner was called, and her bones had dispersed over time.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation announced on Wednesday that no arrests have been made since the bodies were discovered on September 22. On September 27, her identification was confirmed.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation confirmed today that they’ve discovered the body of a missing mother, Suzanne Morphew, who disappeared three and a half years after going on a bike ride on Mother’s Day.

Morphew, 49, was reported missing from her home in Chaffee County on May 10, 2020. Investigators have revealed they found her body in Moffat, Saguache County while probing a separate case.
Following her disappearance, her spouse was charged with her murder but it later dropped as he even sued the federal civil rights civil lawsuit against prosecutors for defamation.

In the internal affairs document, Cahill stated “the arrest of the suspect now as the worst decision that could have been made.”
He went on, “the arrest of the suspect in this investigation was premature” and called it “hasty.” April 19, 2022: A judge dismissed the case against Barry Morphew.
