Ramsey started a successful Hollywood career in character roles in the 1970s, appearing on shows including Little House on the Prairie, Wonder Woman, Three’s Company, and Ironside.

Ramsey’s slurred speech, which became a signature of her later performances, was caused in part by having a portion of her tongue and jaw removed during esophageal cancer surgery in 1984.

On August 11, she died at the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills.
