Was Peter Murrell married before?

In connection with an investigation into the Scottish National Party’s finances and fundraising efforts, the Scottish police have detained Peter Murrell. The couple Peter and Nicola Sturgeon are wed.

The police have reported that they have apprehended a 58-year-old man who is a suspect in the case and that they are examining further places related to the investigation.

The SNP’s offices close to the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh and the couple’s property in Glasgow, which was covered by a tent, are reportedly among the places being investigated. Allegations about how the SNP handled £600,000 in donations that were allegedly collected for a second independence referendum campaign but were really used to cover the party’s ongoing operating costs prompted the launch of the probe.

Police have stated that because the investigation is still ongoing, they are unable to release any details. SNP leader Humza Yousaf noted that the news of Murrell’s arrest was “challenging,” but he refrained from commenting on the pending police investigation. He added that the SNP had offered complete cooperation and would continue to do so.

Yousaf added that he didn’t believe the police investigation had any bearing on Sturgeon’s decision to resign as party leader in February after serving in that capacity for eight years.
