Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has sparked reactions on social media after he promised to give out 10 million Naira to any artiste who performs at Burna Boy’s homecoming concert.

The homecoming concert was organised by the state to celebrate the successes of the musician and to also congratulate him for his win at the just ended Grammy awards night.
Burna Boy’s music album, Twice emerged as the winner of the Best Global Music album of the year, after being nominated in the same category last year. This made him the first Nigerian to win a Grammy Awards.
Addressing the state during Burna Boy’s visit, Governor Wike stated that he was super excited about the performances he saw during the concert to celebrate the musician. He added that he will honour all the artists who performed during the show with an amount of 10 million Naira.
