The state-run news outlet TASS reported that Zelenskyy is on the Russian Interior Ministry’s wanted list, although no further details were given.

This action coincides with Russia initiating a criminal case against Zelenskyy. Ukraine has rejected this claim, calling it a sign of Russia’s “desperation.”

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry pointed out that, in contrast to Russia’s baseless claims, there is a genuine International Criminal Court arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin due to allegations of war crimes, which is enforceable in 123 countries.

The ministry views the Russian declaration as a desperate attempt by the Russian government and its media to gain attention. Previously, in February 2022, Russia had issued arrest warrants for various Ukrainian and European politicians.

Russian authorities also added Estonia’s Prime Minister Kaja Kallas, Lithuania’s culture minister, and former members of Latvia’s parliament to their wanted list for the demolition of monuments from the Soviet era.
