Tweneboa Kodua Fokuo Steps in as Managing Director of National Investment Bank

In a recent announcement, Mr. Tweneboa Kodua Fokuo has been appointed as the new Managing Director of the National Investment Bank, starting May 13, 2024.

He succeeds Mr. Samuel Sarpong, who has led the institution since 2019.

According to an internal memo, Mr. Fokuo’s appointment was made by the majority shareholder.

His extensive background in banking, particularly in Risk Management across various banking sectors, positions him well to steer the bank towards a prosperous future.

Moreover, Mr. Philip Ofori-Asante has been nominated as the Deputy Managing Director, following Mr. Fokuo’s footsteps. With a wealth of experience in banking, his addition to the leadership team is anticipated to be beneficial.

Assuring continuity, the memo also highlighted ongoing restructuring and transformation efforts under Mr. Fokuo’s guidance, backed by the Board’s support and collaboration with Management.

Mr. Fokuo brings a robust banking career, including roles at Barclays Bank, Ghana, and First National Bank Ghana Ltd. He holds a BSc.

Degree in Natural Resources Management from KNUST, an MBA in Finance from the University of Wales, UK, and an Advanced Commercial Credit Risk Certificate from the IFS School of Finance, UK.
