Held at the renowned Zuiderparktheater, the event attracted over 5,000 attendees, celebrating the richness of African culture and unity.

This year’s festival marked a fresh chapter after a four-year break, with the Nteasee Foundation taking over from the Sankofa Foundation, previously led by George Duncan.

One of the standout moments was Ghanaian artist Trigmatic’s debut performance in the Netherlands. His engaging and energetic show highlighted the festival’s aim to bridge cultural divides and celebrate African talent.

Trigmatic’s performance also opens doors for future collaborations with Ghanaian artists, continuing the tradition set by Sankofa Foundation’s previous showcases of artists like Kyekyeku and Wiyaala.

Augustina “MS.ABA” Austin, a well-known musician and entrepreneur with deep ties to the diaspora, brings a fresh perspective to the festival.

With her Ghanaian heritage and upbringing in Delft, she has a deep-rooted passion for African artistry. Her collaboration with George Duncan has prepared her well to guide the festival into this new chapter.

Augustina expressed her enthusiasm about the festival’s future, stating that her goal is to build on the great work of her predecessors while introducing new elements that highlight Africa’s diverse cultures.

She is committed to supporting emerging talents and creating opportunities for artistic growth and cultural exchange.

The festival featured a vibrant mix of music, dance, fashion, and a talent program called ‘Upcoming.’

Looking ahead, the Nteasee Foundation is dedicated to continuing the festival’s legacy and fostering new connections within the African arts community, particularly in Ghana.
