Tom Hannegan was a Missouri-born American businessman and politician. Hannegan, a Republican, was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives from Missouri’s 65th Congressional District in November 2016 and re-elected in 2018.

Tom Hannegan represented a section of Saint Charles County to the north and northeast of St. Charles, all the way to the Mississippi River. Hannegan has previously worked as a magazine publisher and chief editor, as well as for a family-owned real estate company.

Hannegan was openly homosexual. In 2021, he was one of just two LGBT Republicans in the Missouri House of Representatives, along with Representative Phil Christofanelli.  Scott Mell, an account manager for Hannegan’s magazine firm, was his business partner.
