Daley, the defending champion in the men’s 10m synchro diving event, and Glover, a two-time gold medalist in coxless pairs, together hold three Olympic gold medals.
Daley is the first diver to carry the flag at an Olympics, while Glover is the second rower to do so, following Moe Sbihi in Tokyo.

Daley, 30, reflected on the honor, noting that his late father, Robert, would have been immensely proud. “My dad would not have ever believed I would be a flag bearer one day,” Daley said. He added that this Olympics is about enjoying the experience rather than focusing solely on winning.
Glover, 38, who will compete in the women’s four, described the appointment as “probably the biggest honour of my life.” She expressed her deep appreciation for the role and the recognition of her hard work.
The announcement was confirmed by the British Olympic Association president, Princess Anne, at the British Ambassador’s residence in Paris.
