In a candid and thought-provoking conversation on the latest episode of the Bahd And Boujee Podcast, former Big Brother Naija star Tolanibaj shed light on a disturbing trend within the influencer industry—exploitation by individuals in positions of power. During the podcast discussion with co-host Moet Abebe, Tolanibaj made a strong statement regarding the exploitation of influencers for sexual favors by individuals wielding power and influence. While she refrained from naming specific individuals to avoid potential legal repercussions, her words carried weight as she spoke out against a pervasive but often overlooked issue.

According to Tolanibaj, some influencers may engage in behaviors that they are not proud of, succumbing to pressure from those in positions of authority. She highlighted the insidious nature of this exploitation, noting that it transcends gender boundaries and affects both men and women in the industry.

“It’s not just women who are being targeted,” Tolanibaj emphasized. “There are some people in power taking advantage of influencers for sexual favors. Both men and women. There are some young male influencers who are doing certain things that they are not proud of for money.”

Despite her desire to bring attention to the issue, Tolanibaj expressed reluctance to call out specific individuals, citing concerns about facing legal consequences. “I don’t want to mention names because I’m scared of handcuffs,” she admitted. “I don’t want to be arrested.”

In the face of economic challenges and financial pressures, Tolanibaj acknowledged the difficult decisions that influencers may face in order to make ends meet. However, she urged her peers to prioritize self-respect and integrity, advising them to resist compromising their principles for monetary gain.

“The economy is hard and I would not judge or blame anybody doing certain things for money,” Tolanibaj remarked. “But I will advise, put your pride first and respect yourself more.”
