Tiwa Savage Releases ‘Lost Time’ from Soundtrack of Her Debut Feature Film

Tiwa Savage, the multi-talented singer, songwriter, and actor, has just unveiled her latest single titled ‘Lost Time’. This track is a special release as it’s part of her much-anticipated debut in the film industry with the movie ‘Water & Garri’.

The film, a product of Everything Savage and Unbound Studios, is scheduled to premiere on Prime Video on May 10, 2024, alongside its complete soundtrack, which will be available through EMPIRE.

The production of ‘Lost Time’ saw the collaboration of renowned producer Khari ‘Needlz’ Cain, known for his work with top artists like Bruno Mars, Drake, and Cardi B, and co-producer Poo Bear, who boasts impressive work with Justin Bieber, TY Dolla, and Usher.

In this single, Tiwa Savage takes listeners on a nostalgic journey, reflecting on a past romance and longing for the joy of those times, all set to the tune of a captivating mid-tempo beat.

The soundtrack album, carefully put together by Tiwa Savage herself, features ten original tracks that showcase her award-winning talent.

The album is a fusion of Afropop, R&B, and Hip Hop, with contributions from a lineup of distinguished artists including Grammy nominees Olamide and Ayra Starr, the revered Nigerian singer-songwriter ASA, the talented Cameroonian artist Richard Bona, and gospel singer Zacardi.

The album also boasts collaborations with Cortez, Ghana’s own Black Sherif, Nigeria’s Reekado Banks & Young Jonn, the gifted Mystro Sugar, and the Neo-Highlife ensemble The Cavemen.

‘Water & Garri’ is not just a film; it represents a significant moment in Tiwa Savage’s career as she takes on her first leading role and serves as the Executive Producer. In the film, she portrays Aisha, an ambitious fashion designer who returns to her native home ‘Eastside’ after 10 years away living in the United States following a family bereavement.
