President Bola Tinubu has lauded Dangote Refinery for its decision to reduce the price of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), commonly known as diesel. This move by Dangote Refinery to slash the price of diesel from N1,200 to N1,000 per litre has garnered praise from the nation’s leadership.

In a statement issued through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, Mr Tinubu expressed his appreciation for the positive impact that this reduction in diesel prices will have on various sectors of the economy.

Acknowledging the strategic importance of the federal government’s 20 per cent stake in Dangote Refinery, Tinubu underscored the significance of partnerships between public and private entities in driving the nation’s development agenda.

“President Bola Tinubu commends the enterprising feat of Dangote Oil and Gas Limited in reducing the gantry price of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), also known as diesel,” according to the statement.
The statement highlighted Dangote Refinery’s recent revision of the price of AGO, offering it at N1,000 per litre for a minimum purchase of one million litres, along with a discount of N30 for offtakes exceeding five million litres. This substantial price adjustment, amounting to a 60 per cent drop, is expected to have far-reaching effects on the prices of goods and services across various sectors of the economy.
