Thuso Mbedu is a South African actress best known for playing the lead roles in top South African shows like Saints and Sinners and Scandal.
Thuso Mbedu was born on July 8 1991 in Pietermaritzburg. Thuso Mbedu’s parents died when she was very young and as a result, she was raised by her grandmother. Thuso Mbedu studied Physical Theatre and Performing Arts Management at the University of Witwatersrand. Thuso Mbedu has a sister called Masentle Nomalungelo Mbedu.

In 2017, Thuso Mbedu was cast in the popular MTN series Shuga as Ipeleng and in 2018, she played the lead role Okuhle Cele in the drama series Side Dish.
Thuso Mbedu was also cast in the Barry Jenkins film adaptation of The Underground Railroad as Cora.
