Rory McIlroy’s attorney, Thomas Sasser, filed a Notice of Voluntary Dismissal on his behalf on Tuesday afternoon, June 11, at the Palm Beach County Courthouse.
As a result, court officials closed the case, indicating that Rory McIlroy, aged 35, would need to restart the process if he wishes to pursue a divorce.

This decision comes shortly after Erica, aged 36, was served divorce papers at their marital residence in Jupiter, Florida, in May.
The petition gave her 20 days to respond or risk having the court grant the divorce by default. However, despite the deadline passing on June 2, Erica reportedly did not file a response or engage legal representation.
On Tuesday, Sasser’s submission to the court, signed by Rory McIlroy earlier that day, resulted in the voluntary dismissal of the case.
