Nigerian songstress Tems recently shared her thoughts on her time spent behind bars in Uganda back in 2020.

Tems recalled being confined in a cramped cell alongside other women, fearful of potential violence if she made a misstep.

Reflecting on her encounter, she emphasized how it offered her a unique perspective and a sense of humility.

During her confinement, she sought reassurance from fellow detainees about the possibility of physical harm, highlighting the tense atmosphere she endured.

Tems and fellow artist Omah Lay were arrested for performing at an unauthorized concert and violating COVID-19 regulations.

After spending two days in detention, they were charged and subsequently released. Tems later spoke out about her experience, acknowledging the struggles faced by women in similar situations.

A year after her release, Tems took to social media to express gratitude for her journey, acknowledging the lessons learned and the resilience she discovered.
