These major players emphasize that they haven’t hiked their prices unlike others, fearing it could harm the industry’s sustainability and shake investor confidence.

In the statement, ALTON Chairman Mr Gbenga Adebayo and ATCON President Mr Tony Emoekpere highlighted the lack of widespread price increases in the past 11 years due to regulatory restrictions, despite economic hardships.
They stressed that the current price control mechanism threatens the industry’s sustainability and investor confidence.
They urged the government to engage in constructive dialogue with industry stakeholders to address pricing challenges while ensuring a balance between consumers’ affordability and operators’ financial stability.
Additionally, the telcos expressed concerns about rising security issues affecting their services’ efficiency, urging the government to take action before it spirals out of control.
