The 13-year-old son of NYPD Deputy Commissioner John Miller was robbed of his cell phone and wallet outside of Central Park on Monday afternoon, sources said.
The theft occurred at about 2:15 p.m. on Central Park West near 91st Street on the Upper West Side, according to law enforcement sources.
The teen victim had just got off the bus when he was approached and robbed by a suspect, believed to also be a teenage boy, who was riding a Citi Bike.
The suspect sped off into the park after the crime, but was later caught. He is being questioned by police at a nearby police station house.
Miller, the department’s head of counter-terrorism, was also a CBS News correspondent.
