Theodore Blunt was an American politician, educator, and sportsman. Blunt’s political career in Delaware spanned 16 years on the Wilmington District Council and eight years as president of the city council. He was the father of Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester.

Blunt’s high school sports successes included making All Public Teams in basketball and soccer, as well as being named the Markward Club’s Public League’s Most Valuable Player in Basketball his senior year.
Blunt has long supported WSSU with his time and contributions. In 2010, Blunt fully returned to his alma mater for his four-year scholarship, keeping with his commitment to education and giving back.

Blunt, the father of Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester had died Thursday night at home surrounded by “love”, the statement said.
Ted Blunt’s cause of death is unknown.
