Wily Taylor’s manager, Michael Henderson, confirmed to USA TODAY on Friday that the actor died on Thursday, citing natural causes as the reason for his death.

Wily, born Teila Tuli, portrayed the character of Kamekona, an entrepreneur and informant, for 10 seasons on the popular television series. “Hawaii Five-0” showrunner Peter M. Lenkov paid tribute to Wily on Instagram, expressing his sorrow with a heartfelt message. “I am devastated. Heartbroken. I’ll post some detailed feelings later. Just too hard right now,” Lenkov wrote, captioning a photo of the two of them together.
Before his acting career, Wily had a diverse background in sports, starting as a sumo wrestler before moving into mixed martial arts. His transition to acting showcased his versatility and talent, earning him respect and admiration in both fields.
