Taylor Swift has achieved a major milestone by ending Kanye West’s streak of 11 consecutive No. 1 albums.

Swift’s latest release, The Tortured Poets Department, has claimed the top spot on the charts, narrowly beating West’s latest album, Vultures 2, which fell just short of No. 1.

This victory is particularly sweet for Swift, given her well-documented feud with Kanye West.

The rivalry began in 2009 when West infamously interrupted Swift’s acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards, claiming Beyoncé should have won the award instead.

The tension intensified with the release of West’s song Famous, in which he controversially claimed credit for Swift’s fame with the line, “I made that bitch famous.”

The situation was further complicated when Kim Kardashian and West secretly recorded and edited a conversation with Swift to imply she had approved the lyric. However, the unedited conversation eventually emerged, clearing Swift of the allegations.

This recent chart success adds a new chapter to their ongoing saga and may feel like a moment of poetic justice for Swift.
