A labor specialist, Austin Gamey, has suggested that the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) will need a complete restructuring.

He emphasized that this should be done without any political bias.
Speaking on the ‘Hands off Our Hotels’ demonstration organized by North Tongu parliamentarian Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa against the proposed sale of hotels owned by SSNIT, Mr. Gamey remarked during the Ghana Tonight Show on TV3 on Tuesday, June 18th:
“There should be a clear-cut approach to resolving this SSNIT matter without political considerations so those who are in the habit of partisan or parochial when it comes to things of this nature, SSNIT is not one of the political things we should play with or toyed with under any circumstance should not be toyed with.

“The competence, structure, and character of SSNIT will have to go through a complete overhaul.”

Samuel Okudzeto has been voicing concerns regarding the sale of the hotels to Minister of Food and Agriculture Bryan Acheampong.
He has filed a petition with the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) regarding this issue.
On Tuesday, June 18, he additionally orchestrated a protest against the decision.
