Spyro revealed that his father decided to cease paying his school fees because he wasn’t achieving good grades. This decision had a significant impact on their relationship, leading Spyro to feel that his father disliked him.

Despite the harshness of his father’s actions, Spyro acknowledged that his dad was likely trying to instill discipline by refusing to continue investing in his education without academic results.

During the interview, Spyro expressed his feelings of resentment and confusion, even questioning his mother about whether his father was really his dad.

He shared that his mother’s struggles to support his education were evident as she took on the responsibility of paying for both his secondary school and university fees. Spyro’s mother worked hard to ensure he received an education, despite the financial strain it placed on her.

Reflecting on his father’s strictness, Spyro mentioned that being a pastor’s child added another layer of pressure and high expectations. Although he struggled with understanding his father’s tough love at the time, Spyro now sees it differently. He realizes that his father was trying to push him towards better performance in school.
