The controversy revolves around claims of song theft involving a track produced by Kwame Mickey, known for his work on the original “Defe Defe.”
Kwame Mickey has demanded that Team Eternity address the copyright concerns by meeting with him and offering compensation, asserting that they sampled parts of his previously produced song.
In her first public statement on the matter during an interview with Kumasi-based Hello FM, Mabel Tiwaa Rockson of Hallelujah Voices expressed her dissatisfaction with Team Eternity’s approach.
She highlighted her surprise and disappointment at their actions and remarks.
“I enjoyed their song when I heard it and thought they should have approached me earlier. It would have resolved the matter more easily,” Rockson remarked.

She recounted how she initially discovered the song through her children, thinking they had created it themselves, only to later learn it was performed by Team Eternity.

Rockson further explained that she had considered making a remix of the song but decided to wait because Team Eternity’s version was already popular.
The situation escalated when Kwame Mickey contacted her and mentioned he had addressed Team Eternity’s actions on social media, which he felt was necessary despite their suggestion to resolve it amicably.
“They called my husband and suggested we handle it as Christians, not like hiplife artists. I felt offended when my husband told me about their remarks,” Rockson added.
