Legendary Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson has settled the unending debate of who the greatest footballer of all time (GOAT) is.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are in the latter parts of their sterling career as both of them are in the ‘wrong side’ of their 30’s. Ronaldo is 35 years whereas Messi is 33 years. They have dominated the footballing sphere for more than a decade and as their careers gradually come to an end, the debate about who the GOAT is keeps on popping up.

Roaldo’s former manager, Sir Alex Ferguson appears to have settled the debate by revealing the difference between Ronaldo and Messi.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi

According to Sir Alex, the difference between the two is that Ronaldo can shine anywhere whereas Messi appears to be made for Barcelona only.

Sir Alex Ferguson said;

Plenty of people say Messi (is the best in the world), you cannot despite that opinion…Ronaldo could play for Millwall, QPR, Doncaster Rovers, anyone and score a hat-trick. I’m not sure Messi could do it. I think Messi’s a Barcelona player.
