Vice President Kashim Shettima has reached out to Nigerian doctors, urging them to remain in the country and contribute to the nation’s progress under the leadership of President Tinubu.

Shettima’s call came during a meeting with the National Executive Committee of the Nigerian Medical Association, led by Prof. Bala Audu.
Concerned about the growing trend of doctors leaving Nigeria, Shettima cautioned against what locals call the “Japa Syndrome” and emphasized the importance of staying hopeful, as Tinubu values their presence and is committed to supporting them.
Acknowledging the challenges faced by doctors in Nigeria, Shettima praised their efforts and sacrifices in improving healthcare.

He urged them to continue their work in the country, emphasizing Nigeria’s potential and the need for collective investment in its future.
Furthermore, Shettima encouraged the NMA to guide young doctors towards specialization and to combat the presence of unqualified practitioners in the field.
He reiterated the importance of unity and dedication among Nigerian doctors in shaping the nation’s healthcare landscape positively.
