Duvall’s career was marked by a series of notable performances. In 1977, she delivered a stunning performance in Robert Altman’s drama 3 Women, earning her the Cannes Film Festival’s Best Actress award and a BAFTA nomination. Just three years later, she endeared audiences as Olive Oyl in Altman’s musical adaptation of Popeye, starring opposite Robin Williams.
Despite her early success, Duvall’s presence in Hollywood waned, leading to a two-decade absence from the screen. However, she made a triumphant return in 2023 with her role in The Forest Hills, marking a significant comeback.
