Shatta Bundle, whose real name is Firdaus Iddrisu, attended the funeral of John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, in Amuri, Enugu State on June 28, 2024.

The act, however, drew criticism from the EFCC, which views such actions as disrespectful to the Nigerian currency and its value.

In response to the backlash, Shatta Bundle posted a video apology on social media on July 3, 2024. He expressed regret over his actions and clarified that he did not intend to violate any rules or laws.
“I didn’t come to Lagos to break any rules. Lagos is like my second home. I’m sorry for spraying money; it was not my intention. I was spraying dollars and ran out of notes, which is why I sprayed Naira,” Shatta Bundle explained in the video.
He further pleaded for forgiveness from Nigerians and the EFCC, emphasizing that his actions were unintentional.
Spraying or defacing the Nigerian currency during social occasions is prohibited under Nigerian law, with penalties ranging from fines to imprisonment.
