Shatanya Clarke Death: Obituary, Husband, Children

KFDX weekend anchor and reporter Shatanya Clarke died on Thursday, April 14, 2022, after a battle with brain cancer. She was 27.

Clarke started working at the Wichita Falls, Texas station in August of 2018 as a reporter. She began anchoring last year.

She also hosted the station’s Helping the Helpers franchise.

“Shatanya was a bigger-than-life spirit,” said KFDX news director Adam P. Bradshaw. “Her wit and personality could brighten anyone’s day. She had a passion for telling stories in a way that really hit home. To say our family and this community will miss her is the understatement of the year.”

Clarke worked with station photographer Brandon Cooper to create the Soups and Socks annual fundraiser for Faith Mission in Wichita Falls and was a volunteer for many organizations, including the Junior League of Wichita Falls.

A candlelight vigil will be held Monday night at 7 p.m. in Park Central in downtown Wichita Falls.
