Scott Barrett who was born on 20 November 1993 is a lock who plays for Taranaki in the Mitre 10 Cup and the Crusaders in Super Rugby. He currently represents New Zealand in rugby union. Barrett will lead the Crusaders as their captain during the upcoming 2020 Super Rugby season.

Barrett has since participated in 36 tests for his nation since being initially selected for the All Blacks, New Zealand’s national squad, in 2016. He faced Ireland in his debut.

After growing up in a rugby family where both older brothers Beauden and Kane, as well as younger brother Jordie, went on to become professional rugby players, Scott Barrett started his playing career at Francis Douglas Memorial College in his hometown of New Plymouth. His brothers Beauden are currently one of his All Black colleagues.

Barrett played in every Rugby Championship game this season, starting four of the six contests, but he skipped the recent Northern Tour to stay in New Zealand and attend the baby’s birth.
