Ghanaian actress and socialite Afia Schwarzenegger has strongly criticized Chef Smith amidst controversy over his alleged fake Guinness World Records (GWR) certification, questioning the repercussions of his actions on the nation.

The backlash ensued after GWR denied any knowledge of Smith’s claimed feat, asserting that he had not submitted any evidence for verification before making his record claim.

The legitimate record for the longest cooking marathon (individual) is held by Alan Fisher of Ireland, lasting 119 hours, 57 minutes, and 16 seconds.

Schwarzenegger expressed deep disappointment in Smith, highlighting the embarrassment his actions have caused for Ghanaians.

She demanded transparency from Smith regarding the communications and documentation he purportedly received from GWR.

“You have embarrassed Ghanaians because Guinness World Records stated they have no record of you or your claim. What communication did you receive from them that you have yet to disclose? What documentation did Guinness provide that you cannot produce to this day? What offense have we committed for you to disgrace the entire nation like this?” she remarked.

Smith had earlier announced his supposed GWR certification at a press conference, which led to his subsequent arrest for fraud. Schwarzenegger, in response, vowed to take action to ensure he faces legal consequences.

“Yesterday, you caused chaos throughout the country. I will personally petition the Ghana Police Service about you. They should keep you in custody,” she added sternly.
