Gianluca Scamacca found the net in both halves, while former Chelsea player Mario Pasalic secured a late third goal. This result positions the Italians as strong favorites to advance to the semi-finals when they face off again next Thursday in Bergamo.
Scamacca opened the scoring in the 38th minute when Caoimhin Kelleher let his low shot slip under him, breaking the deadlock.

Mohamed Salah, initially a substitute, pressured the visiting goalkeeper Juan Musso with a powerful shot, resulting in a remarkable save. Prior to this, Kelleher made up for his mistake by preventing Teun Koopmeiners from doubling Atalanta’s lead.
The Reds displayed a lackluster performance with little urgency in their play, and they paid the price for some poor defending.
Scamacca capitalized on being left unmarked to double the lead with a precise finish in the 60th minute. Pasalic’s strike in the 83rd minute followed a sequence where Ederson was given too much space to shoot. Kelleher made a save, but Pasalic swiftly seized the rebound to score.
