In his address to the crowd, Sarkodie seized the moment to remind students of the upcoming SRC elections and encouraged them to cast their votes for Guru. He stated that Guru’s leadership could significantly enhance the university experience, especially for students involved in creative arts. According to Sarkodie, Guru’s presidency would be a step forward in creating a better environment for creatives within the university.

Guru, widely known for his hit song “Pooley,” is now following in the footsteps of several other public figures who have transitioned into political roles within educational institutions. His candidacy for the UG SRC presidency comes in the wake of fellow musician Samini’s successful tenure as the SRC President at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
