Welcome back to The View, Sara Haines! The former co-host is returning to ABC‘s daytime talk show this fall for Season 24, Variety reports. Come September, Haines will be filling in the spot left open by former co-host Abby Huntsman, who left The View in January after nearly two years with the show.

Haines is back on the show after serving as a co-host for two seasons, from fall 2016 to summer 2018. In this past year, she’s been back on The View to fill in for other hosts, joining Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Meghan McCain and Sunny Hostin for discussions about the day’s headlines and pop culture news.

Before her turn at the Hot Topics table, Haines was a lifestyle anchor on GMA Weekend. She was initially brought on the show by former President of Disney-ABC Television Group and ABC News Ben Sherwood in 2016, when Sherwood wanted to integrate more Good Morning America talent into The View cast.

In 2018, Haines was pulled from The View ahead of Season 22 and recruited to co-anchor the third hour of GMA in a show with Michael Strahan in January 2019, titled Strahan & Sara. Keke Palmer was added to the morning show in August 2019 and it was renamed Strahan, Sara and Keke. ABC replaced the third hour of GMA with coronavirus coverage in March, but Page Six reported that the show had been officially canceled in July.

Since The View first debuted in 1997, it’s seen multiple staff changes over the decades. Along with Haines, two other co-hosts have left and returned, including Rosie O’Donnell, who originally co-hosted from 2006-2007, and Behar, who joined the show in 1997 and continued to co-host through 2013. While O’Donnell had a brief stint in 2014 and left shortly after, Behar has been going strong on the talk show since she made her triumphant return in 2015.
