The story of famous American actress Sandra Bullock’s entry into parenthood was not a mere choice, but one that was heroic and touching. It was out of the wrecks of late August 2005’s Hurricane Katrina’s rampage on the coastal cities, especially New Orleans, that drew her to do the one thing she felt was missing in her life.

In January 2010, Bullock and her then-husband, Jesse James, announced that plans to adopt a son born in New Orleans, Louisiana was on the way. Her split and subsequent divorce did not deter Bullock from continuing the adoption process as a single parent. Bullock announced that she had adopted a second child in December 2015 and appeared on the cover of People magazine with her new daughter.

It was not until after 4 years of searching that Bullock finally found the child who would soon be her first adopted son in her arms. Bullock used to say that Louis, now 11, would not have paparazzi all over her son while under her care. Being her first, Louis thought it needful to keep their lives private and raise him without intrusions from the media’s prying eyes.

Laila Bullock

Laila, 9, was born in Louisiana in 2012. Laila’s arrival in 2015 won her the same privacy treatment Bullock gave Louis. Bullock’s second kid, a beautiful daughter, was 3 years old when she was adopted.

Bullock also reportedly has not liked her kids being referred to as “adopted” by the public, especially because she has not deemed the media’s point of referring to the racial difference between the kids and her as pleasant. She simply loves the kids as her own, and Louis and Laila are beyond proud to have an award-winning actress as a mother.
