Rudeboy, one half of the renowned music duo P-Square, has confirmed that the group has once again disbanded following their much-publicized reunion. The announcement comes as a blow to fans who were hopeful for a sustained comeback from the celebrated Nigerian music duo.

P-Square, composed of twin brothers Peter and Paul Okoye, initially parted ways in 2016 due to internal disagreements. However, in 2021, they reconciled and reunited, much to the delight of their loyal fanbase.
However, in an interview with Lagos’ City FM, Rudeboy disclosed that the reunion has come to an end. “The plan of our coming back together was going to produce a lot of hit albums. But as it is now, I’m just focusing on Rudeboy. Trust me, it is not everything that I would want to say,” he shared.
Rudeboy addressed the challenges that arose during their time together, including public perceptions and internal disagreements.

He recounted instances where he faced criticism for his remarks about Peter’s role as a dancer, which he believes affected their dynamic. “I was being accused of saying that he [Peter] was the dancer and I’m the singer. I know whenever we go to the airport, people ask are you a singer or a dancer? I didn’t know it was touching him,” Rudeboy said.
The tensions resurfaced during the release of their collaboration with T.I., “Eja Jo,” which, according to Rudeboy, did not resonate with fans as expected.
Rudeboy explained that despite his efforts to resolve past issues and ensure a harmonious working relationship, the situation remained strained. “When we came back together because I didn’t want the issues that happened before, I told my brother to show himself and let us be involved in the creative process together. I told him we should share who carries the tracks equally but still, it wasn’t working.”
The final straw came when Peter expressed his desire to quit the group. “He told me in the face that he wanted to quit. I asked if we could make it public and he refused. But what will happen when I go solo? People will call me a bad person. That’s why I’m speaking up now,” Rudeboy said.
