Rod Blagojevich compared his own case to Trump’s, claiming that both of them were charged with things that are not crimes by “weaponized” and “corrupt” prosecutors who are trying to “destroy our Constitution and the rule of law”.

Rod Blagojevich also warned that the indictment of Trump, who is accused of making illegal hush money payments to two women who alleged affairs with him, could set a dangerous precedent for future politicians.

Rod Blagojevich said that he believes that Trump’s charges are motivated by political bias and personal vendetta.

In his own words, Rod Blagojevich stated:

“I think this is the apocalypse of our democracy. They’re doing to a Republican president the major league level what they did to me, a Democrat governor, at the Triple-A level. I went to prison for things that are not crimes. They’re charging President Trump with things that are not crimes.”
