Ri Sol-ju is the current First Lady of North Korea.

She was born to a gynecologist mum ward and a father who is a professor. Her family have close ties with Ri Pyong-chol, a former general of the Korean People’s Army Air and an ally of Kim Jong-un.

Ri graduated from Pyongyang’s Kim Il Sung University, where she studied vocal music. She began singing in the Unhasu Orchestra, making several performances internationally.
